Monmouth County Sheriff 9-1-1 Dispatcher Candidates
Dear Public Safety Telecommunicator Trainee Candidate,

If selected for employment with the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office Communications Division, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package.

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:

  • Salary
    • Starting at $30,000 per year
    • Automatic salary step increases every calendar year up to maximum salary of $45,500. 00 after nine years
  • Paid vacation:
    • 0 to 5 years employment = 96 hours
    • 6 to 12 years employment =120 hours
    • 13 to 20 years employment = 160 hours
    • 21+ years employment = 200 hours
  • Schedule:
    • 80 hour two week period
    • 36 hours one week (3 twelve hour shifts)
    • 44 hours 2 nd week (3 twelve hour shifts/ 1 eight hour shift).
  • Sick days:
    • 8 hours per month for 1st year employment
    • 120 hours per year for each subsequent year of employment.
    • Any unused sick time is accumulated and will be carried over from year to year.
    • Accumulated sick time may be cashed in up to a maximum of $15,000.
  • Medical and prescription coverage with optional dental and optical coverage.
  • Uniform allowance of $800.00 per year payable in two installments of $400.00 each.
  • Retirement plan based on Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).
  • College credit program of $35 per credit per year of extra pay for any pre-approved credits earned while employed by the Monmouth County Sheriffs Office. The Course taken must be beneficial to the Communications Center.
